Model B axle assembly

I wonder if someone with a set of Planet X Model B wheels might take a look at the drive side axle assembly and either post a picture or two (without the cassette) here or describe it. I have an issue with my Model B's that is a little odd and I am suspecting that there's something important missing from the drive side axle. On my wheel there's only a single threaded nut - no second one to lock against. I'm sure there should be a second one, but I just can't get my head around how I would have lost one of these! The wheel was fine last year, but is currently unusable.

Thanks.

In essence, I don't think there's anything missing from your wheel - looks like the nut screws up against an oil seal / o-ring.

    What's up with it?

    Thanks for that.

The problem is that when I do up the QR skewer even quite loosely the hub seems to be binding. I can pedal forwards, but feel some extra resistance. I can't turn the cranks backwards at all. The strange thing is that they worked fine last year, then I didn't use them for a few months and when I tried to use them again had this problem.

The only things I'd suggest you've likely already done - but beyond that I'm stumped...

    - With the wheel off the bike, when you grab the end caps does the wheel rotate freely? Does the freehub move easily?
    - Take off QR, unscrew end caps, pull off freehub to check for corrosion, state of the bearings, free movement.

Everything looks okay - plenty of grease, everything seems fine until I clamp the wheel in the frame. Might have to take a trip over to the Planet X showroom sometime and see what they say.
