Has my Garmin 305 died?

Got it out of it's box this morning, turned it on and I got a VERY dark screen with a hazy blue text over it. Looking closely it seems to be connecting to the satelites ok but it's almost impossible to see.
It was bought new from Merlin in january, never been dropped and always looked after.
Of course it would happen two days before I need it for a triathlon!!!

Any ideas?

Still under warranty though surely if only bought in January?

My 205 is on its last legs, dies for no reason out on rides and one button no longer works

Soon be upgrade time, 500 or 800?? :?

That happend to my Garmin 305, I brought my one from Amazon and they just sent me out a new one and i sent back the old and its been working fine ever since.
