mapping software for Garmin 705
Does anyone know if its possible to get free online mapping software that I can plan routes on and transfer them to my Garmin 705? I've got the garmin mapping micro sd card in the GPS- have been trying to use my anquet walking maps but its pretty hopeless & somewhat expensive if you start downloading things like OS maps. I just need a road map that I can plot routes on and transfer with at least some accuracy! Has anyone come across anything that is compatable/ useful?

I use bikehike.co.uk there are others. Save the route, upload it to your unit, away you go...........0

Thanks for the responses- exactly what I'm after!- Have always found it a right pain to upload from the software I was using before- to be fair, it wasn't designed with this in mind. It's pretty straight forward with both of these- thanks again- off to try out a new route!!
