Campag Record chain split
Hello all.
I need to take off the chain from my Ribble Gran Fondo to fit a longer one for my girly Fred Whitton cassette!
For some reason, it is a Campag Record chain (the rest of the groupset being Centaur). Now my Centaur chains have a mark on the link where they are joined. I can't find any mark on the Record chain at all to indicate where the join was made. So, can I split it anywhere (I thought you had to avoid the original joined link) or is there something I'm missing that I should look for in the pin itself?
Thanks in anticipation......Rolf

Thanks for that - as it happens, I have the booklet but got thrown by the Italian English translation. In the end, I found some guidance from Zinn and split the chain opposite the joining link. Can't see it matters either way; you'd hope that any joining link, quick links will be stronger and heavier than the rest of the chain.Faster than a tent.......0
