Connecting TB drive direct to TV

right then, knowledge of forumers needed.....
i want to be able to connect my TB drive direct to my TV so i can watch the films without going though my macbook. I there any type of interface box you have heard off/used that basically houses the player software only and then the picture is shown on the TV?
I was going to do this and then as i add films to the collect i can just transfer them on to the drive.

It works pretty well and reads all movie formats I feed it.
I've got the O!Play HDP-R1, without internal disk.0 -

does it have a player in it?

Its an LG 32" LCD, it doesnt have a USB connectionso i need some kind of player, just been looking the asus player and wondered what the channels are like. I mean its all well and good having access to 5000 chennels but are any of them worth watching?0 -

Yes it does state that but I didn't even noticed it, sorry!
I only use my box "offline" to watch movies, so can't help you with the online channels.0 -
