Will a Tiagra front derailleur work with this set up?
I'm looking to upgrade my Dawes Galaxy from bar end shifters to STIs. Using Tiagra shifters, will the Tiagra FD 4503 front mech work with this set up:
48-38-26 chainset and 11-32 9 spd cassette.
Or will I be better of fitting a 48-38-28 chainset and 11-34 cassette?
My main concern rests with the compatability of the front mech and chainset.

According to the shimano tech docs the 4503 works with a front chain set with a tooth difference of 20 or less. That would mean using the 48-38-28 (48-28=20). There might be some margin though.0

That's what's aroused my concern. However, I have heard of, though not met or spoken to, people using the 4503 with a 48-38-26 chainset. What I don't know is if such a set up was fitted with or without any "modifications", or if the shifting has been compromised in any way.0 -
Sorry, I don't have experience of it. On paper there is not much difference between 26x32 and 28x34 but that might not be much comfort going up a steep hill fully laden.0
