I've got a Cateye CC-MC100W that's less than 13 months old (just out of guranatee!) and has recorded less than 2,000 miles but it's spontaneously started resetting itself mid ride. It goes back to "Unit". Today I noticed it was only recording a constant 3 miles an hour (and I was going faster) just before it reset itself.

I have replaced the battery in the computer (not a brand new one though) but it's still doing it.

Any ideas?

The warranty on Cateyes is two years. I returned mine to the retailer I bought it from for a replacement no problem.

From the manual for your one:

LIMITED WARRANTY - 2-Year Computer/Sensor only (Accessories/Attachments and Battery Consumption excluded). If trouble occurs during normal use, the part of the Main Unit or sensor will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

That's really good news! Thanks very much. I've put a brand new battery in now but if it still plays up I'll send it back...
  • Joycie - I'd be interested to know how you got on.

I have been putting up with two troublesome Cateye Micro wireless units, both of which reset themselves mid-ride. It's bad enough when it happens on a recovery ride on a known route, but when you're busting a gut on a new route (and especially when abroad!) it really gets my goat.
