8 speed chain on 9 speed chainrings?

Struggling to find campagnolo 8 speed cranksets so wondered will the 8 speed chain work on a 9 speed crankset?

    it definately does on shimano. i dont know what width campagnolo chains are. the dimension your interested in is mainly the inner width, which on shimano chains is the same, only the outer width changes. you will most likely only be talking a fraction of a mm on the outer witdth anyway, which wont make noticeable difference on the front .
