On One 456 Carbon - New Bars!

This is my first bike build, I had a GT Aggressor xc.3 which I had upgraded but I was not that happy with it and when a friend of mine got a White 901 I decided it was time to change the bike.
I thought I would get a 456 Carbon as it was a good price and had some good reviews, I also love the look of the frame. Thought I was going to buy and just transfer my bits from the GT onto the 456 - How wrong was I !!!!!
All that remains from the GT is the XT crank and rear derailleur which were only a few months old anyway.
So here it is my pride and joy.
Took it out with some friends yesterday to Epping Forest and I am sooooo pleased with it. I spent a long time learning how to tune the gears and getting the riding position correct for me and it all paid off yesterday. The gears were sweet and after 5 hours riding I felt like I could keep going.
If anyone is wondering about the skull on the rear brake calliper - when I first built the bike it had 165 rotors on and the calliper would not clear the frame, as a quick fix I angel grinded the calliper case so it would clear the frame, then I changed my rear rotor to a 185 and the calliper sat further out clearing the frame so I sprayed the calliper white, stuck the sticker on as a laugh and lacquered over it. Just a little custom look because of something I cocked up on

That's certainly one of the nicest looking C456s I've seen on here.
If I was going to get another HT, it'd probably be one of these.0 -
Some good kit on there and the red and black job is better than some of Specialized's efforts"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0

Mine should be arriving tomorrow!!! can't wait.
Looks sweet mate, i've gone for the gloss black in the end as i like them plain and simple.
Gonna run a black and white(boring) theme same as my road bikes.RR/Cross/Commuter: kinesis pro6
Mtb: On One 4560 -
That looks awesome! Love the paint job. I really want this frame but I've still a few skills to pick up before I can justify having one. Only thing I would change would be the lizard skin chainstay protector, get one of those smaller carbon jobbies.0

Rubbish forks and wheels matey0

I woundered where my bars whent.....i think therer the best bit lol!
Looking good, but i agree with macca get rid of them forks and wheels dude0 -
Good job I was on hand to advise you on what kit to put on the bike! lol
Shame that your such a short ass I cant ride your bike properly!0 -
Thanks for all the positive feedback about the bike!
ScottieR3 – hope you enjoy your new bike as much as I am enjoying mine.
I will post some more pictures as and when I upgrade stuff, in the pipeline are some new riser bars as the ones on the bike are borrowed and very heavy! New brake calliper mounts, and new brakes maybe once my bank balance has recovered!!
In the winter I am stripping the bike down and giving it to my mate for a re-spray, not decided on colour yet but it’s going to be bold…. 8)Don't hate the player, hate the game!!!!0 -
Very nice - got mine about 2 weeks ago and off to Glentress this weekend for a proper work out!0
-
Any suggestions as to which riser bars to get?
I am thinking about these:
I might go down the carbon route but really not sure for the bars, they are usually the first thing to hit the ground when you crash!!!! :shock:Don't hate the player, hate the game!!!!0 -
Yeah and we all know you like to fall off a lot!0
-
Really! First thing that hits the ground is me. The bike usually has a nice soft landing on me!0

oh, forgot to mention the bars.....I think you should go for the Easton Haven risers, only £119.990

Havens look good, but my vote goes to Sunline V1sCarbon 456 http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12754782

I use these on On One's!
FSA K Force Carbon Fibre bars, medium rise!
Brilliant!
Some great deals on the net!
I got some new ones two weeks ago for £40
£112 in the shops in the UK!0 -

Thanks for the input, such a massive choice out there it's good to see what others are using.
tk46hal - I am really tempted by the FSA bars, that is a really nice looking On One you have. I will have to trawl the net and see what deals I can find.
My car has gone in today for a lot of work so depending on how much that costs me the bars might have to wait until next month. Bike stuff is a bit like a drug, you just got to have it, so knowing me it will probably be sooner rather than later.
I will post pic's once I have made a choice and they are on the bike.Don't hate the player, hate the game!!!!0 -
V1's are nice... or Renthal fatbars...
I have FSA Maximus's and like themI like bikes and stuff0 -
I ended up going for the Monkey Bars! My car cost me a bit of cash so could not justify buying carbon bars just at the moment, I had a good look but could not find any the right length or right price and when I did find some they were out of stock!!!
A couple of my friends have these bars and they like them so thought I would go with it for now.
