Well it's that old favourite, frame sizing.

I'm looking at a 2nd hand Kuota Khama but the frame is a 53 medium and I'm worried it might be too small. I'm 5'11.5" with an inside leg of 33".

The guy selling is a bit shorter at 5'9" and inside leg 31".

Is there too much of a difference there do you think?

Many thanks, Jon

The Kharma, for me, is a bit longer in the top tube than my Allez, I went size for size when I brought mine, and its maybe a touch long, but nothing a tad shorter stem won't sort out.

Not sure if that helps, but if you can pro rata the Kharma geo to your current bike, and maybe go a touch smaller, you shouldn't be far wrong.

Although, you really ought to ride it........

Well I ride a GT Zaskar Pro MTB at the moment so I cant compare that really.

I think it may be a bit small but I guess like you said only a ride will confirm,

    Thanks for the advice

Key dimension is toptube length, which is a bit shorter for a road bike in comparison to an MTB - typically 50-70mm due to the extra reach of the road bars.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Top tube is 53.5cm for the medium I think. FWIW I'm 5'8.5" and ride the same size Kuota. I'd say its probably too small - you'd need a lot of seatpost showing, either a big saddle-bars drop or lots of headset spacers and a fairly long stem. You might be able to make it work, but the frame size is probably too small for you.
    More problems but still living....

Cheers for the advice. Coming from someone who rides one is invaluable.

I think you're right, it does sound too small and I'd end up regretting it being squashed up on it.

Best wait for something closer to my fit
