New bike quandary

selling my allez elite tomoro and thought I had the new choice sorted.
Was buying a 2010 tarmac elite but the shop sold out of 58cm this week
Don't really like or want to pay £1650 for a 2011 elite and don't want to be without a bike for three weeks if I went for the new ribble sportif.
Don't like trek or giant and don't fancy a willier as don't want campy, can get a good deal on a focus with ultegra as I'm a platinum customer so that could be an option but the brand don't inspire me and I saw a mini review that did not rate it that much either.
I like bianchi but don't like the carbon prices.
Really do like the 2011 105 build van nicholas mistral though and can get that for next weekend.
Thoughts?

The Tarmac is almost identical geometry to the Allez so it'll feel familar.
Must admit though, I'd be leaning toward the Van Nick if I had that option right now.

Yea it's why I was heading towards the Tarmac but the van nic is a very good build right now0

Three words: GO FOR IT
Shame you can't be converted to Campag, but if I was buying a £1500 bike right now and had no preference on groupset manufacturers, this really is the ONLY bike I'd choose. Assuming it's for everyday duties that is. Gotta love the Cervelo S1 for bombing it down dual carriageways though :twisted:0 -
 Don't like campag. are you stark raving!!!!!!!!!0

It's the thumb shifters that i don't like, kind of get in the way.
Before I bought my first road bike I really wanted the full Italian experience, bianchi, campy etc as I love all things Italian ( last three motorbikes were ducati and have been to Italy many times and love the culture)
plus I have a few shimano spare bits and pieces0
