Good value bottle cage

Not the most exciting purchase but anyone know of any bargains about?
My boardman carbon cage disappeared mid race at the weekend. I think it must have failed as the bolts were still in, one was still tight with a distorted washer. Perhaps overtightened them and enlarged the fixing holes?
I would prefer carbon but dont want to spend £40-£50. Equally dont want something that doesnt perform well.
If there is a light, good looking alternative to Carbon, Im not a snob.
Any suggestions?

I like the planet X carbon ones - very light, keep things in snug, and a reasonable price.
'09 Enigma Eclipse with SRAM.
'10 Tifosi CK7 Audax Classic with assorted bits for the wet weather
'08 Boardman Hybrid Comp for the very wet weather.0 -
The Spesh road carbon ones are nice. They're carbon copies of the plastic ones. They are light and they are the ones of choice to keep bottles in your bike over cobbles (if that's a consideration). When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0

+1 . They look very much like the Zipp ones I have on my Cervelo which are now £80.00 a pair. I havent use them yet, waiting for the frame to put them on, so can't comment on their durability and grip.Pegoretti

How about £15 for two?

There is a 4g penalty though which might not be acceptable!
Or these with no weight penalty!

Or £2.40 for an almighty 35g.......http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-basic-bottle-cage/
Can't see anything more pointless than spending £20+ for a bottle cage0 -

Lol - please see arguments for and against in the Chinese carbon frame thread!
Besides, one reason for expensive cages - they look good (applies to most top end bike stuff)Faster than a tent.......0 -

This is what you want, looks like carbon, almost as light, but bends like alloy.

+1 for the Planet X carbon bottle cages - £35 for the pair

I have them on my summer road bike, replacing more expensive Specialized carbon cages & they are way more usable in terms of ease of pulling and placing the bottle when riding, plus gone over loads of cattle grids in the New Forest, not yet had a bottle bounce out.Summer - Dolan Tuono with Sram Force and Dura-Ace 7850 CL Carbon wheels
Winter - old faithful Ribble winter bike

Stainless cage. http://www.kingcage.com/assets/img/Cage1.gif Strong, cheap, timeless (Same as me minus the strong and timeless parts) easy to get the bottle in and out of and no paint to chip off. Mine are 20 yrs old now and look almost new. Although at 48 grams each I have to avoid hills. 8)0
