Spec for my "get it while you can" dream bike

Having set a goal for my return to cycling as getting back below the hour for a 25 mile TT, I am currently spec'ing the bike that I will treat myself to as a reward when this is achieved. The cost can be fairly high as it will be recouped from the savings made by giving up my 30 a day smoking habit at the start of the project.
I have drawn up the following spec from what my eye fancies, from what friends have recommended and where other sources have failed, reviews and magazine recommendations.
Is there anything here that anyone thinks is a disastrous choice or anything I have overlooked that should be on anyones dream bike?.
I can only imagine me doing this once in my life so any pointers will be more than welcome.
Enigma Excel frame
Enve Composites 2.0 forks
WR Composti MX1 Bars with integrated stem
Chris King Ti Headset
Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 Groupset (7900)
KCNC SCPro Lite Scandium Seat post
Mavic Open Pro on Royce Hubs, spokes on builders recommendation
Sella Italia SLR Gel Flow Saddle, (because it's what I currently ride)
Shimano Dura Ace Pedals
Michelin Pro Race 3 tyres

If you are fitting a Chris King headset why not also get Chris King road hubs/Skewers, all in the same colour !
I was originally going to get the CK hubs for my dream bike but they were not available. I opted for DT Swiss 190 Ceramic hubs instead
I opted for separate bars & stem to give me greater choice and ended up with ths FSA K wing bars and alloy stem.
Also consider fitting some lightweight inner tubes and nice bottle cages ( I got Arundel)

Im finding Canyon hard to ignore for the £££ at the moment but youve given me an idea
How long would I need to smoke for in order to quit and buy myself a Pegoretti??
Its worth a try..............................0 -
I would go for a WR Compositi seatpost to match the bars and even their hubs too - what makes a bike stand-out are getting the details right.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

How would you have the frame finished?
If I was going to have a Ti bike built, it'd be an Enigma for sure.0 -
Thanks for the advice, looking through it I guess it may be a more balanced looking bike if I kept the number of suppliers down.
As for the finish I'm torn between an oxide blast with mirror decals or a two tone paint with mirrored decals and seat stays. Quite fancy an old school look but don't want to hide all the Ti
As for how long you need to smoke before you can give up, don't go there, nothing spoils cycling like an inbuilt lack of oxygen. :shock:0 -
As a fellow smoker with an Enigma, I would opine the following...
Speak to Mark @ Enigma first. If you need a custom geometry then there is a fairly long lead time (as you may expect given their apparent popularity).
The bars with an integrated stem would obviously need to be spot on for sizing as it would be rather expensive if you had to change them...
I am aware that Mark has recommended the 3T forks to a friend of mine as an upgrade over the Enigma own label version (for increased stiffness) - but this rider is a very powerful Northern lad with a long road racing pedigree, and rides an Effusion. I don't notice any issues with the Enigma ones! The 3T ones would match the red/black of the Enigma carbon though, so keeping the "look" similiar
I have the "standard" finish on my Echo, and would love to go for the bead blasted logos with mirror polish bands either side, but not sure I want to send the bike back for that long to have it done
I would love to have Di2 I must admit. I ride with a guy who has it on a Storck (no disposable income there then...) and he loves it

(p.s. giving up smoking here would probably get me a Halfords Carrera if I was lucky, as fags be so cheap here  )0
