Cateye strada vs Cateye strada cadence? Magnet issue...

I already have one of these computers on my Alu Giant Defy 3 and has served me well. BUT...I replaced the wheelset very soon after buying my bike, some 18 months or so ago, for some second hand Ritchey WCS Protocols with aero spokes. Although the magnet works, it sits at an awkward angle and has been known to lose signal, usually after I've taken it off for truing the wheel etc, it has played up a bit before resting at an angle as it does now.
I have no issue with the computer and want to invest in another but my new bike, soon to arrive, has Mavic Ksyrium Elites which are also aero spokes and want to know...
i)
Is there an alternative magnet I could use? Preferably to suit aero spokes because I think the standard one with the Strada, despite what others have said elsewhere, is not satisfactory and if it may be by some standards I don't want to do it like this.
ii)
What are people's experiences of the Cateye Strada Cadence where the counter is on the chainstay? What are people's experiences and am I making a fuss about nothing and should just stick to what I know?

OKay, thinking about one of these to go on the rear wheel for the chainstay cadence sensor? Reckon this might work?
