Bike Racks

Hello!

I should be getting my mountain bike soon, and would like to be able to take it to Thetford and other places out of riding distance, so obviously I need a bike rack. However I'm unsure about exactly what would be best for me. A towbar mounted one of some sort would be good for most of the time as it would be the most convenient, but I would like to be able to take my bike with me on my family's holidays and we'll be taking the trailer. A roof mounted rack would work for the holidays, but my dad doesn't want to be leaving the roof bars on the car all the time, so putting the rack on the car regularly would be inconvenient. This leaves a rear mounted rack, but I'm unsure as to whether one would fit our car (2006 Peugeot Partner Combi).

The only solution that I've come up with is to get a towbar one for now and then get a roof one later for the holidays, but obviously that's quite an expensive solution.

So if anyone has any suggestions, or experience with a rack on a Partner I'd be very grateful if you let me know- I'm confused!

Thanks,

Paul

I use a roof rack. Only takes 15 mins to remove rack from the garage, fit it to the car securely and attach 3 bikes!

As long as you leave the bike racks attached to the roof bars, it is very quick and easy to remove the roof bars and carry the lot into the garage.
