Hi,
About to buy a new cassette, and undecided between an ultegra 600 (which I can get for £40 quid on merlin), or a 105 5700 (which costs £36ish from either merlin or winstanleys).
Just wondering which of the two are better. I can also get a 105 5600 for around the same money.
I know the 105 5700 is newer than the ultegra, so is probably very similar (if not the same with new name), but was wondering if anyone had better experience with the ultegra or the 105.
Relatively new to the road biking business, hence the question.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Use both and there's no noticable difference. I think the Ultegra's about 5g lighter. Not worth the price difference.

If you're using a '700 series chain then go for the 105. The teeth are specifically profiled to work with the new chains. I can vouch for the fact that shifting is smoother with the newer cassettes when used with the same series chain!

    Hi,
thanks for the advice. Ended up going for the 105, as was slightly cheaper.
However the guy I bought the rest of the groupset sold it to me with an ultegra chain, so thanks for the advice, and will be considered when this one dies.
Cant wait until Wednesday to have everything and be able to finally use my front derailleur again!!!!! (my old sora set died a few weeks ago)
