Need to replace the supplied saddle on the Fuji 'cos i don't think it'll cut it over sportive distance.
Running a Rondine Life on the giant and like it so I checked out the Fi'zi:k website, only to be confronted by this Spine Concept malarkey.
All this Snake, chameleon and bull () stuff leaves me a bit
All I'm after, really, is a lighter version of the Rondine.
What model should I be looking at?

I think the Fizik Aliante is the wider, flatter profiled road saddle so maybe the nearest alternative.

Were you aware that you can road test Fizik saddles though several bike stores on a 'try before you buy' basis? It would really help you to make the right choice, as although the road saddles are lighter, they are also firmer and less padded.

I shoud add that you're only saving about 60 grams on the upgrade though! Not much if it's not as comfortable.
  • Thanks for the heads up ajb72.
Think I'll just swop saddles over now.
    What the derriere wants.....

Can you post a link to some of these stores?? I currently have an arione and although it is better then my old selle italia it just doesn't feel right. Was thinking of trying an antares but if I could try before I buy then that would be great :D

I'd start with the LBS first, but have a suspicion Leisure Lakes offer the demo service too.

Somerset hey? My neck of the woods where abouts? Don't ask me why but I've got Arione, Antares and Arione  Arione the best if you're flexible as you've got a real range of positions. I find it's better suited to a slimmer build as you can end up with the wrong part of your anatomy on the saddle if you're not careful. You've also got to be real careful with the level set up. Not tried my Antares yet as got it when I was dithering over the Arione set up but didn't need it in the end so it might be for sale! Aliante is simple, one position saddle which puts the least pressure on the spine of the range. Don't worry about 60grams difference though mate  I rode up a local hill the fastest I've ever done yesterday with a 500g tub of PSP22 in my jersey pocket

PS Tri UK in Yeovil will measure you and advise on saddle choice. They also have a Satellite branch in Wells now - Bike City.

I've just ordered the new Arione Versus model, I'm hoping it will be a nice balance of my Arione and my older Specialized Toupe. Anyone seen one / tried one yet?
