Ello,

Just wondering if anybody can reccomend a saddle bag in which you can fit a decent bike pump/puncture repair kit?

Or, how other people transport their puncture repair kits? Had mine in a backpack, but it doesn't bode too well with my bad back!

Thank you!

Can't you fit a pump to the frame? Then you can fasten an inner tube to the underside of a water bottle cage.

Also: take a look at Wingnut Hydration packs. The weight rides more on the hips and much less on the back, although you might have to import one from the US these days:

Hi I bought one of the saddle bags from lidls the other day and it seems fairly good and also comes with a kit and tools.

I use a Topeak Aero Wedge under seat saddlebag. I allows me to carry levers, patches, a CO² inflator, a few CO2 cartridges and a Crank Bros. 22 multitool
The great thing is that you can buy additional QuickClick fittings for your other bikes, so the saddle bag can be interchanged between bikes with ease

Topeak Aero large with straps as opposed to clip, fit everything bu the kitchen sink in with the pump frame mounted usually.

I've had the clip style break on me before now especially if you're going bouncing about stupid style. the strap version is attached at 3 points, less likely to sever all 3 straps, but after 15 months or so the straps do wear so you need to keep a general eye out later on, now i always quickly wrap a bit of black electrical tape round where the straps come in contact with the saddle rails. safe as houses.

Saddlebags should only be used when sporting a bell and reflectors. Oh and that little plastic thing between your cassette and spokes.

Ah, your the BSO rider wearing the 30L military spec backpack who carries everything in it including touch up paint in case you stone chip your frame.

Strangely enough I have one of those too, admittedly I've also broken a QuickClip on the Topeak bag, but that was caused by stupidity opposed to wear and tear

I used to use the Topeak Aero Wedge but the zips kept giving up. Topeak do a buckled one now, the Drybag wedge. Much more effective in my view, although it is pretty ugly.

rail wear on an old trek bag i've still got (for some reason). got my monies worth out of it like, but it's worth checking any bag over periodically.

I have a specialized wedgie in black, its expandable so you can hold quite a bit of gear in it, repair kit, inner tubes, mobile phone etc.

This is the one I have but this ones in grey:

Have a little Topeak bag and frame mount for the pump if not using the camelbak type thing.
Only problem I had was the guys calling it my knitting bag when the tools rattled around.

@sandy hill yar boo sucks. I'll make sure all BSO stuff is off my bike before the Springly Sexily Swinley ride tomorrow.

Wrap everything up in an old bike rag and it will stop the noise, plus, you always need a bike rag when you get the tools out anyway! :)

    HAHAHA!

Thanks everyone, the Topeaks sound decent. First puncture on my bike the other day, so need to sort something.
