Looks like it comes with a half link thingy anyway, but they'll be fine. If it does cause your bike to spontaneously combust, throwing me from the steed while destroying all that I hold dear, and possibly decapitating oneself in the process, post back here so we'll know for next time

Doesn't come with a halflink. Comes with a masterlink type thing.
It's shortening the chain by a small amount that I want. For some reason the chain is either slightly too short and makes for about a millimetre clearance on the back tyre, or slightly too long and the tightening wheel nut is almost overhanging the end of the track dropout.

What are you doing on my bike btw?

Will see how things turn out over the weekend and post back if the world ends as a result.

Oh yea, just copied your thingy.

Why not get a proper half link chain?

you could always go for the KMC Half-link Chain ..... no shortage of half links and they run really smooth
Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.

Heard mostly poor things about halflink chains, namely that they're very noisy. Already have the Izumi so a couple of quid on a halflink will be the first bet

As long as both are 1/8" chains, this will work fine. I have done the same with the chain on my singlespeed to get the right chain length.
