Got me one these for Chrimbo and its been working faultlessly on my LeMond winter bike. Now the weather is improving I've used it twice on my Scott Addict and both times its behaved weirdly. First on the Mad March Hare sportive it was about 3 miles out in distance compared to everyone else's records which all tallied up. Then on a second ride the elapsed distance just stopped half way, as the time continued the average speed began tumbling! I ended up having to do a re-set as the unit eventually froze. I've since used it again on the LeMond with no problem.
So what's going on? both bikes have the same GSC 10 cadence sensor and I don't know what to do :( .

Have you got different bikes on different profiles? The GCS10 would be another cuplrit but as you're using the same one on both bikes then discount that factor. Have you updated the firmware. Have you got zero-averaging turned on?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

The bikes are on different profiles and each one has its own GCS10. How do I update the firmware? What's zero-averaging!! Excuse my thickness

Go to Settings -- System -- About Edge to get your firmware version, the current is 3.30. Connect your edge to the PC and open up Garmin Connect and update the firmware if needed, it will tell you on the RH of the screen if needed.

Zero-Averaging is the way the Edge calculates your average cadence so might not have any relevance to the average speed issues your having.

    Settings -- Data Recording.
