Anyone using the Cavendish Pro Stem.

Hi,
Wondering if anyone is using the Pro Cavendish stem as I have a question.
It appears the stem comes with its own top cap and wondered if that means your steerer tube has to be cut to accomodate it or can you simply use your standard top cap and still have some steerer showing...?

Cheers - would appear you have to use the supplied top cap which renders my idea moot .... would seem you have to know exactly where you are putting it and I am still fettling a new position.0
