hahah the orange five won, no suprise. they probably paid the gadget show to win...

It was so obvious the Orange 5 was going to win. I'm sure they had a Mojo in the studio at the start, but didn't even talk about it.

The trail is Cannock Chase, the end (or beginning depending where you park) of Follow The Dog
The irony is that the Orange 5 came out trumps even though that particular bike gets slated over its industrial and dates design. It just works...

I thought it looked like Cannock! I just didn't recognise any of the parts they rode, I have only been twice though.

It's the part after you cross the road and cut through the caravan park, through the berms, down Werewolf Drop up the hills, along the ridge to finish at The Rollers

    Hardcore?
Why get two celebrities not known for their MTBing to test them, rather than, oooh, I dunno, two hardcore MTB nutters? Akkrig and Megaskills? Gee and Rachel Atherton? Me and Sheeps?

Hmmm, I think I know which bit you mean now. Oh well, just another excuse to go back to Cannock and find out which bit it is ;)

Oh, and later on in the show, shock horror, smartphones have crap cameras. I love how all three cameras were garbage, by their own admission, but they said one was a "clear winner".
Hmm, best of a bad bunch comes to mind.

Don't laugh, he really did!
  • Considering the last MTB test I remember on the gadget show was Otis and Jason racing down a bit of fireroad, I think what we saw last night was a step in the right direction, and a blast down the final section of FTD is what the majority of people watching would consider hardcore but also attainable.
The downside for me was that they had some nice looking bikes to ride, but the chose a tractor instead.

Hardcore my bum! Riding a few trail bikes around what looks like an easy trail (iv never ridden cannock) is not exactly hardcore.... and the result was as predictable as it was ridiculous... still a bit of main stream coverage is always nice....

Guy choosing the Orange was hardly a surprise considering he rides an Orange himself....at least he did until it was stolen!

oh yes, I'm sure we could produce some insane televisual entertainment. I reckon having a North walian force things like "sick to the power of rad" into conversation would amuse a lot of folk. Then we could have sheeps blow up the losing bikes with anti tank mines or something :D

    now THAT would be awesome.

We should totally do a Monthly CrudCast. (I'm having all the royalties on the name should it be used! )

selected users send in their "segments" each month, and one of the graphics lad's does all the pretty swoopy stuff and one of the editor lad's puts it all together into a 30 minute piece of online tv brilliance.

We could have a riding section with one of the Crudites local spot's, a decent argument or two and a Clinic with Sheeps and Yeha. Oh and Nic could impart his technical awesomeness. And any other funny, random or inspirational "segments" anyone wants to make and send in.

It WILL BE AWESOME. We are a people with a dream! A people with a dream of freedom! A dream of freedom that burns brightly in our hearts and minds!.....

    sorry, I got carried away....

I would certainly watch a show hosted by Yeehaa and Sheeps. I think simply calling it 'Rad to the Power of Sick' would automatically make it a TV sensation.

It's not silly, "Open source TV" is an awesome idea.

To be honest it would be pretty good, I just highly doubt anyone in the Crudcacther could be bothered to do it!

If it was pulled off, I'm sure it would be very entertaining to watch. But only if hosted by Yeehaa and Sheeps.
