Not sure if it had any impact, no real marks.
I may have concussion, Other person in the crash has a broken collar bone in 2 places.
Ive got skin missing off both knees and elbows and my helmet is cracked across the front.
The bike's had a couple of sma
all crashes in the past but only little slips, Nothing that marked the frame at all.

The bike's less than a year old.

No marks at all on the frame from any crashes? What to do?

Stop riding with other cyclists because that's how crashes happen.

Take it into your LBS (Local Bike Shop) and have it looked over by a professional. They can see things that you cant see. And will now that a hairline fracture = big trouble. Hopefully there's nothing wrong but I always air on the safe side (Only 2 of my 8 bikes are carbon fibre).

What sort of crash? If there's no sign of damage then I'd probably take it to the LBS for a quick check over.

Of course if you're just looking for an excuse to get a new frame then it's almost certainly terminal
    More problems but still living....
  • Carbon is stronger than Aluminium by 5X ( Ithink anyway). If the bike is not scratched and has just boucned up and down the road then the carbon frame has done a very good job at absorbing the impact. Chect the bike thoughtoutly for any scuff, scratch or even crack!. If the scratches and scuff marks are minor then go get some clear nail varnish and paint over it! That should protect the carbon, also this works very well on the top of the hood when you have fliped the bike upside down to fix flats. ( the topf of the shifters btw if that makes sence)

And if you wanted to bin it then I recycle carbon frame for free :) lol

    Such as?
Most (not all) LBS are ran by young lads who only know how to fit the Shimano components on a new frame... let's not give them super powers they don't have

Is it a painted frame? If so, a crack visible could just be the lacquer/paint but it could also be hiding something more major. In my experience, the only way to tell if there is any tiny sign of a crack is to sand down any paint or lacquer to see what's happened to the actual fibres/resin beneath. Then get it refinished if all is good.
If you've been over it with a fine tooth comb and can't find any cracks, then you should realistically be fine. Well, the bike should be, at least!
Oh, and I'd wait until the concussion eases before checking!
  • Well it was actually my girlfriend who crashed, Its a cube axial wls race (Its in the your road bikes section)
She's had a few knocks on it already but no visible marks.
I just want to be sure, Don't think i would trust most bike shops, Mechanics and staff are hit and miss. I know some fantastic staff in Hull but I'm not sure where I am now.
I know halfords gets a bad rap but I actually think its the cycling shop staff in general, Actually the retail industry in general but thats another issue.

Some of the best advice I've seen given is right here on bike radar, there are lots of people who seem very passionate and really know their stuff.
Ill send an email direct to cube and if I get a reply I'll put it on here for future reference.

    hope you both recover well

if the helmet is a giro one, they have a crash replacement program that gets you a replacement at lower cost, it's not a huge reduction but still can be cheaper than retail

  • I cracked the rear drop out all way through close to the BB on my Carbon Cinelli Man Machine in 2009 (at 44mph - GPS - hitting a car on road down from Windgather rocks !)...bent Eurus wheels, smashed pedal, broken rear derailleur etc.... Got bike fixed by Darren at CBR for ~£80; face and body fixed at Macc general FOC. Bike like new still
