Chainring advice - compact chainset

Hi Guys
I have a Campag Record Ultra-torque compact chainset but have found I don't really get on with the chainrings. I miss having a 52 or 53 tooth chainring for occasional eyeballs out sprints. I know I could possibly put an 11t sprocket ont' back end but would mean changing about 4 cassettes. I think Campag chainsets [compact] are 110 BCD and noticed that Spa cycles in Harrogate are doing Stronglight chainrings with this BCD that go up to 52t and TA do them in this BCD up to 57t. Anyone had any experience or tips of changing a compact chainset back to a proper chainset!!!

You can do it but you need Campag specific 110 chainrings. One leg on a Campag compact is not at 110 and one leg bolts into your crank arm. I would recommend a TA Solano for your outer and a Nerius for your inner.Neil

Thanks Neil. Makes sense now. Explains when I tried to swap some other compact chainrings to the Ultratorque cranks and ended up having to elongate one of the crank bolt holes with a file.

Your front mech only has a capacity of 16t so if you're increasing your outer ring don't forget to increase your inner ring at the same time.0

So 52/36 would be as low as I could go on Inner?
