replacing bb and crankset
hi, im buying a bike which comes with a crappy like £60 compact chainset so will want to replace crankset and will probs have to replace BB anyway. will probably replace with new ultegra chainset.
been around bike for ages but thought id better get learning how to do stuff and buy proper tools cause never done this before - pretty useful to know how to do it.
can anybody list the tools i need? is a torque wrench a must?? other than that is it just the right torque wrench fittings? the new parts, BB and chainset, and an alan key or two??
also could somebody recommend a good/the right grease to use for the BB??
also any dencet videos would be good, i cant find any for the life of me..
as far as i know there's probably a lot more to bbs and chainset seeings as they're are so many different types
am i right in saying the main ones are GXP, Howitzer, ISIS and powerslpine? anybody know the main differences?
i know there's a lot of questions in there, but anyone could help with any of them i would feel very enlightened!
thanks in advance!

There is loads of advice on here already for cranks.
If you want a guide for fitting, go to the Park Tools Website.
Select Maintenance by area, and click on the bottom bracket of the bike.
It tells you everything you need to know.
Oh, and you will at least need a tool for fitting your new bottom bracket, and it may be different to the one you need for removing your old bottom bracket.0 -
woooah, i'm in heaven, cheers mate, jackpot.0
