Slopestyle?

Hey. Can anyone tell me what slopestyle is? I'm riding a specialized enduro fsr at the moment and riding down hill. Its getting pretty smashed up at the moment. I've seen people riding DH then popping onto rocks and doing trials riding and throwing there bike around like its a trials bike. But with suspension. Is this classed as slopestyle? This is the type of riding i want to get into but i feel my bike is to heavy and has to much travel. Can anyone help me out and tell me what type of rig i should be looking at with out spending loads of money as I'm pretty skint at mo. Cheers

Google chatel slopestyle, that will give you an idea, all be it on the extreme side.

ALL slopestyle is "on the extreme side" of things. It's basically freeriding, but in a judged competition.
If it's not judged, it's just freeriding.

Cheers Dave. I Looked up chatel slopestyle. Some sweet riding going on there. If you look up "Chris Akrigg - a hill in spain". This is more the thing i want to get into. Not sure if its freeride, trials or both. Just wanna know what type of bikes to be looking at. I know chris akrigg is riding a mongoose nugget in the vid. Cheers

Why would you say that? There's nothing inherrently impossible in it. Even the trials stuff isn't as mindblowing as the Danny Megaskills stuff (or, indeed the riding that Akkrig himself can do).
Most of it is just riding, with some moments of big balls thrown in.

I was saying it because for a rider to have such good all round skills to his level is generally unseen. Yes, in terms of videos it's not the greatest out there for pure trials or tricks. It's just awesome all round riding far above the level I could even see myself reaching

You should set your sights higher. Apart from the trialsy bits (I suck at trials), there's nothing particularly outstanding there, skills-wise.
And hell, there's even some kids up the road that would happily pull off those trials sections, jammy gits

Why? I'm not talking to the amazingly talented trials kids, I've had the hump on account of them being infinitely better at trials than me

usually it has wooden stunts aswell as dirt
