Deore, SLX or XT chain rings?

My chain rings have had it. I'm running a Deore crankset with double & bash set up with 22t & 36t rings. I was going to replace them with another pair of Deore rings as they are cheap.
What advantages are there to upgrading to SLX or XT? Is it worth the extra cost?

Just lightness. XT does seem to shift a little better when it's new but then it goes off faster, steel deore stays fairly fresh for a long long time. The weight difference is less than you'd imagine too, just because there's not an awful lot of steel in them.Uncompromising extremist0

That's up to the rider really... Personally both my main bikes have deore steel rings and SLX inner rings on XTR cranks (ironically the rigid bike has an SLX crank with an XTR ring on it) I don't like spending money on consumables. But there's no right and wrong ways.Uncompromising extremist0
