Hardtail Buying Help

Due to my long service at work, i have been presented with £500 Halfords vouchers. Have decided to maybe add a couple of hundred and replace my 12 year old mountain bike.
The riding i do is mostly farm tracks and old railway lines. Occassionally forest runs (Thetford, Norfolk) Would like a bike to cover all the above and maybe a bit more forest runs.
Been looking at the Voodoo Hoodou/bokor and the Carrea Fury What do people think of these.
Also is the new Matt finish paint on the Voodoo's to get over the paint chipping issues i have read about
Thanks

Hi first of all, well done you! I suggest you use the search facility on here. For Example type in voodoo and you will get loads of results. I have no experience of these makes myself but their reputation seems to be very good bikes for the money. Try and ride before you buy and happy bike hunting!0

That's even less helpful than mine. Nothing wrong with either of those bikes for what the OP proposes to do.I don't do smileys.

Carrera fury is rated very highly. The voodo bikes look to have a really good spec too. Both great bikes.0
