Hi Guys,
I am still trying yo make my mind up on which new bike for the summer and have been looking at the zesty and spicy's.
after seeing a write up in one of the bike mags, I have been looking on the Canyon website and you seem to get a lot of bike for your money.
My only question is does anyone know anything about them or have any experience of there bikes, what are the frames and build quality like ?
Cheers
Martin

Do a search, there are quite a lot of threads about Canyon cropping up in the last week or so. (search function now works for posts from 24th Feb onwards it seems)
General opinion is that they are outstanding value (which they are) and the delivery is fast and trouble free.
You'll not get a better spec buying from anywhere in the UK. You just wont.
I almost bought one myself, actually had one of the AM range on backorder, but cancelled it the other day as something else has come up I wanted more.0 -
I've just placed an order for a Nerve XC7 after diliberating over it for about 4 months I certainly couldn't find anything to match them for spec and after talking to people on here who have bought from them and finding out that they now have a UK based service centre and getting my missus to agree to me spending about £1500 I had to do it ;-)
also read in the BikerRadar buyers guide in WH Smiths that What MTB have scored the XC9 as trail bike of the year!!!!2011 Canyon Nerve XC7 viewtopic.php?t=127652750 -
Yep nerve xc 9.0 has won bike of the year
Pretty galling as the one reason why I never bought a canyon was the lack of info regarding them, so got the Kona instead. Then they turn up and give it bike of the year, B*****ds!Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
I RIDE A KONA CADABRA -would you like to come and have a play with my magic link?0 -
Hi All,
I'm still a newbie so don't have much experience of the higher end (as far as my budget is concerned anyway!) bikes but am looking to get my first full sus in the next month or two. I see lots of great reviews for the Canyon range (MBUK included) saying the spec is generally pretty decent for the price.
I've been looking at the Kona Tanuki can anyone say how that priced bike would compare spec wise with a similarly priced Canyon? Also, if you've bought a Canyon, how did you find the buying process given there's no way to 'try before you buy'? Did you use the 'Perfect Position' system on the Canyon site?
Thanks in advance0 -
well my new Canyon is due for delivery today YAY I'll post pictures later (after I have been to bed)
I have to say that so far their customer service has been top notch fast response to my emails and they have sent updates when anything changed with my order status so it's all good so far 8)2011 Canyon Nerve XC7 viewtopic.php?t=127652750 -
I'd be very interested to find out how it rides - I'm thinking about a new 120mm travel bike at the moment and whilst my head is saying just take a punt on the Nerve XC 9.0 SL (or maybe LTD) as the spec blows everything else out of the water, my heart is telling me to buy a Yeti as I've always wanted... spend more, get worse kit, but reallly love it! Decisions, decisions...0

Can't wait to see the pictures.
It'd be interesting to hear how you find the fit of the bike given you've not ridden it before making the purchase. I think with WMB awarding the Trail Bike of the Year to the Canyon there'll be a lot of people interested in ride, fit and quality of the delivered product. Having only ever had one 'real' MTB before (a hardtail Giant) and looking to get my first full sus I honestly don't know if I'd notice the differences in tube length, bar width etc etc that more experienced riders would.

I can't help feeling that Canyon are going to become very popular over this side of the channel in the next couple of years (I believe they are already quite big in Germany).
As consumers we are looking for better value for money on everything we buy and the Canyon certainly seems to deliver in that department.0 -
That looks lush! - very nice - what model is it?0

I'm guessing it won't be too much of a problem as they now have a UK service centre2011 Canyon Nerve XC7 viewtopic.php?t=127652750 -

I'm 5'9" . I got my brother to help me when it came time to put my details into Canyons size calculator and I have to say it seems to be about right, I've not actually riden it yet though as my pedals haven't turned up :evil:2011 Canyon Nerve XC7 viewtopic.php?t=127652750 -
Did I read somewhere that Canyon in Germany is their equivalent of Boardman in this country.
Also, I put some of my measurements into their calculator and it suggested a medium size would be right. I'm 6ft 2, the last time I had a medium in anything was when I was about 12!
The Nerve does look mint though, do they ever have any demo sessions over here?Eddy Merckx EMX-3

pedals turned up and I've just been for a quick ride round the estate, not exactly off road (aside from the large potholes left by this winters big freeze  ) but so far it feels smooth, light and agile still need to tweek the riding position but I'm a very happy bunny 8) 8)
Poppit, I'm 5'9" with a 32" inside leg measurement and I was boarderline medium, but it is definatley the right size for me but like I said I'm still tweeking the riding position2011 Canyon Nerve XC7 viewtopic.php?t=127652750 -

did you get someone to help you? I know when I measured myself I came out as a samll then I got my brother to help me and it came out as a medium which I'm glad I checked cause a small wouldn't have been right for me2011 Canyon Nerve XC7 viewtopic.php?t=127652750 -
No, just did it myself with a tape. After I did it I tried adjusting the settings a bit and I would have had to be a lot out to move down to a medium or up to a XLEddy Merckx EMX-3
