I've never fitted one of these. Why do they exist? So that the rear mech doesn't rub against the spokes or so that the lockring can be tightened up?

Do you fit them?

I've got about 8 pairs of wheels running various Campagnolo cassettes and never had the need to run a spacer
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • I needed one on Mavic Ksyrium SSC SL wheels and also Mavic Carbone SLwhen I installed 11 speed Campag, to prevent the chain rubbing on spokes when in the lowest gear. Didn't need it with 10 speed Campag setup.

Not required on Fulcrum wheels though. Haven't tried the remainder of the wheels in the shed with Campagnolo cassettes.
