I am lookin to upgrade my wheels in summer to some prolites but was wondering are they as good as some sites say? I thought i'd post on here as i feel i'd get a honest review from people who have had experience with them.

Great wheels, best 200 quid I ever spent. Ribble will get more in, I had to wait three weeks but it was worth it.

There's a guy in our club who swears they are Planet X Model Bs.

Well, I have both and have just done a visual comparison and I can't find any difference except the decals.

Got a pair of Pro-Lite Treviso's and couldn't be happier with their performance. Would definitely buy Pro-Lite again.

    Have you weighed them?

Only looks don't tell the full stor,y do they? - and as a matter of fact the Bracciano's also look like the Prolite Trevisos, the Lucianos, The Meranos,Comos etc etc.
Can't see Planet X knocking out a £200 wheelset for less than half that. They are not a charity after all.

I thought the Pro-Lites were an amazing bargain, but how Planet X can do a 1600g wheelset for 120 odd quid is beyond me. Makes you look at all these 2000 quid road bikes with much heavier sets and ask yourself who's conning who.

  • Chain reaction stock the Pro-lites... also priced matched Ribble when they were out of stock. Drop them an email with the Ribble link.

OK, just been and weighed the 2 front wheels (minus skewers)

The PX Model B has £10 Schwalbe Luganos on and weighs 1112 g
The PL Bracciano has Conti GP4000s and weighs 960g

I can't be asked to take the back wheels off ATM but will update this thread if I do.

Just looked at the weight of the tyres The Schwalbes are 305/325 and the GP4000S are 205....so it's close
