Carefully put to chain on to big/big. If there is still tension capacity you should be OK. I used 50/34 with 12/27 on my Trek. I rebuilt it as a TT bike using 53/39 with 12/23 and it was fine. One day I put the 12/27 wheel in and to my suprise it worked fine. I do run my chains as long as possible on the compact. That is with the bottom chain run nearly catching the small tab on the cage. Any doubts get a longer chain. It is a lot cheaper than sending the mech in to the wheel when you forget and go big/big by accident.0
