Quick chainring question
My chainset is a triple and I need a new middle ring. I know the PCD and the number of teeth I need but is there any technical difference between chainrings labelled as "Double inner" and chainrings labelled as "triple middle"?
Even though I'm after a middle ring for a triple chainset could I get away with buying one listed as an inner ring for a double chainset?
Surely they're exactly the same, aren't they?

The 'triple middle' will have shifting ramps to guide the chain up from the granny ring. The 'double inner' won't have these.
It will still work, just not as well.Alex0 -
