Garmin Edge 705 Frozen

Dear all, I wonder would anyone be able to help me out with the problem below:
After a couple of years of faithful service my Garmin Edge 705 has just frozen itself when I plugged it in the the PC to upload today's ride. It is stuck on the start up screen (one that says 'GARMIN' in big letters). The on/ off button won't work, I have tried to connect it to my PC, plug it in the charger- but I can't get it from that screen.
With a normal gadget I would try taking the battery out to reset it, of course it is sealed in here, not sure I want to go down the route (unless someone can reassure me it is straight forward
). Only other option I can think of is to leave it for the battery to run down and turn itself off, then give it a bit of a charge and try restarting it.
Has anyone else experienced this and any ideas how to solve it?
Thanks!

There's a soft reset you can do by holding down 3 particular buttons. I cant remember which 3 but a quick bit of googling will find it.0

thanks for the replies Lucky Douglas and Karl2010. After a bit of research I found I needed to hold down the Power, Mode & Reset/ Lap buttons. Back in business now0
