Hi all,
Just after a spot of advice about tyres please.
I've recently bought a Trek 6300 (a MTB I know...bear with me) and amongst other things plan to use it to cycle to work. Journey of about 15miles each way, all road/cycle route.
It currently has Bontrager Jones XR tyres - 2.25 on Front and 2.20 on Rear.
Anyone know any not-bank-breakable suitable road tyres that will fit on. Tried to have a look but don't really know what I'd need.
Many thanks,
Scorchio

I'd look at Kevlar beaded tyres as a minimum, as are lighter and are a great way to save weight cheaply.
As all is on road, might as well get slick tyres - then keep the Bonty for off road stuff.
If wanting something with some side treads for light offroad too then look at this:

Has built in puncture protection too, though not the lightest.0 -
avoid travel contacts and sprort contacts as the rubber compound is very hard, resulting in the front wheel washing out. (on the roads, as its designed for) I've had a few nasty offs due to this. I've stuck an old conti speedking on the front to stop it and left the sport contact on the rear.0

I find the speedking worse lol!0

it's only on the roads to save my skin on the commute, I'd never use them again off road0
