Hi just had 2 vittoria corsa evo cx tub tyres delivered today.
Any input on these tyres as they seem very thin on the side walls compared
with my conti gp 4000.
The conti seems to feel much stronger.

  • I've ridden both a few thousand Km and the 21mm and 23mm Vittoria CX IIs (the 320TPI versions) ride much better than the GP 4000 SR I find partly because of the latex tube (butyl in the Conti) and the higher TPI carcass.

The tread wears out slightly faster than the Continentals but they are not any more puncture prone in my experience.

Agreed, once you've ridden the Corsas, GP4000s feel dead in comparison. BTW they are designed for racing, not general riding so only expect a few hundred miles from them as they wear pretty quickly - keep the 'hosepipes' for training
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Vittoria CX have been a benchmark for years. They are lightweight and supple, yet come with a puncture resistant belt and Kevlar reinforced rubber compound. Latex inner tubes will add to their performance.

I didn't like to say it (though I think I have before!)! Your wheels will feel completely different when you switch...
