    Welcome to the forum.

Try and get a test ride of both of them before deciding

You seem very organised. Good luck with your choice.

What kind of cycling do you do/are planning to do? Touring? Need to fit paniers or mudguards or aiming to do some proper races, etc.? Tried any bikes already? Are you as supple as a snake or creak a bit when touching your toes?

Usual thing I am afraid in that there is no shortcut to walking around a few shops and chatting to a few folks. Getting a decent fit is the most important factor (IMO) since at the price level you are talking about most bikes will be pretty good. Most of us on here will just recommend what we bought :)

Not sure what bits and bobs you have already but pedals, helmet, tights, gloves, shoes can all add up to more than £100 if you are not careful.
