Signs of worn out tire?
Hi.
Now my back tyre does not look that bad, but I've been out today, any any sort of climbs when putting any sort of power on, the wheel just spins, and even in the city going round some corners I'm slipping, never slipped so much before.
Tis doing my head in really as I don't know if it's worn, it does not look it but I'm slipping all over the place.
It's a Vittoria Rubino Pro.

Whether the tread has worn away or not will make little difference to the scenario you have outlined. What are you expecting from two one centimetre square patches of rubber touching the road surface?0

It's wet, greasy and cold out there. that's what happens...0

Rubinos aren't too good in the wet either. Generally my tires are retired because they simply get too many cuts and puncture too often - racing tubs are the only ones that get 'worn out'Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Well I've never experienced this much slipping, last winter I was not slipping and sliding all over.0

It's greasy out there - simples.0

I ride 25mm Rubino Pro Techs all winter and only get that problem if I inflate them too high
No more than 100psi
Also, try not to stand when it's greasy, and if you have to then keep your weight away from the bars if you can. I run 34/27 on the winter bike and it takes something around 20% to make me stand.
Hope this helps0 -
It is slippy at the moment. No ice, but I'm spinning all over the gaff.
Not your tyres.0 -
