Triple to Compact

Hi, is it possible to change a triple to a compact without going to too much expense? I have a Specialized bottom bracket with a compact chainset and wanted to put it on my Specialized Secteur Elite.

    yes, you can just change the chainset

    the shifter will be fine, click twice to change

    some people say they run a double with a triple front mech, but i'd rather fit a double front mech, they don't cost much
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
