Hi All,

I have a Barron 531 race bike which had 7 speed shimano crane friction shifters on it. I have since upgraded to full ultegra 9 speed (from the shed stock) after a few mods:

Band on downtube adjustable cable stops added and drilled a bigger hole for the rear brake caliper.

All works very well.

However, I feel that I have lost the "soul" of the bike and made the front end heavy with the ultegra STI's.

I am looking to change to DT 9 speed dura ace levers and R600 brakes on the handlebars - do you think this is a good idea for a bit of weight saving and maintaining a bit of heritage in the bike?

The retrograde will be about £100 in total and depends on the dura ace levers being compatible with the shimano band on the DT.

Don't know what to do......maybe I am being fussy!
