    Bit shady that.

Stickering up a "replica" for yourself because you like the design is one thing, but stickering up a replica to hawk at a VASTLY inflated price is a whole different kettle of fish IMO

    +1 !

IMO the stickers spoil a lovely bike and makes the sale of it all the more unscrupulous as people will immediately look and think its a fake even though its specified as being a "replica" although that's certainly not the case a sticker does not make a replica.

I just dont get it especially as the stickers went on the other week !?, why the sudden sale or were the stickers to enhance the sale ?.

The price is unreal surely that's wrong it cant be gbb !?.

I have not weighed them but they are far lighter than the Campag Khamsins that they have replaced. Took them out on a 30 km loop this evening and they are also far faster. I was quite apprehensive that they do not seem strong enough but they stood up to the Dengie Marsh roads well enough. Shame the tyres ( Michelin Pro Race) didn't as I punctured after 20 km! I have not changed the brake blocks yet as the ones sent with the wheels do not fit with current Campag brakes! So I am trying not to brake to hard.

So I've been looking around, and have found e_baygoods, who seems to be selling similar rames as well, but at much reduced prices from the others. Other than the price, they also have the attraction (for me) of not needing a BB30 bottom bracket (as I'm swapping components from another frame that is too small)

Has anyone dealt with this company?

What I want to know is.......when will one of these Chinese carbon manufacturers produce a rear disc wheel, I'd be over the moon if they did (and a tri-spoke front would be the icing on the cake.....)

The de Rosa-Somec-Anon certainly seem to be out of the same mould but are they the same lay-up schedule, carbon, resin and construction technique ?

No. Usually you can buy direct. They almost always state the minimum order number - most are 1 piece.

I've been enquiring about carbon clincher rims through Alibaba. There is a huger variation in the price quoted and the weight of the rims varies by about 50g. I'd shop around instead of going straight to Carbonzone and see what you can find.

I've been quoted from about $130 - $200 each rim plus around $60 postage. So if you bought the rims you could build up a superb (and light) set of 50mm clinchers with plush hubs and Sapim CX-rays for less than £500.

They chucked in a free Headset and charged me just £19 for a Carbon Seat Post.

    Excellent comms as well.

Anyone know what size seat clamp I need?

I'll let you know what it builds like when it arrives.

    Hi,
Am I right in thinking the main places to contact are Dengfu, Yishun and Carbonzone?
I always read about deep section carbon rims but I only want 'regular' or medium. Think my Zondas are 30mm.

I don't race, just a club rider, so would the 38mm be best? I think Dengfu might do a 20mm?

I like the idea of getting rims only but even at the max quoted of £200/£120, is that good value? Are they that much lighter?
I'm just comparing it to a quick look on Parker who sell DT Swiss rims (not carbon, I know) for £64 so wondered if the carbon are worth it?

Also, not knowing much about hubs, is it best/safe/cheapest to get the full wheel made or are there lighter hubs that a local builder could make up with the rims?

    Thanks

If you were to go for 20mm rims then you could get rims that weigh less than 300g each. 38mm carbon rims would come in at about 350g. 50mm rims come in at about 410-460g. The deep section DT Swiss rims weight 585g. So you could save over 200g per rim going for the 38mm carbon rims - that's a noticeable difference.

But you can get 30mm alloy clincher rims that weigh about 460g. That's what I have at the moment - IRD Cadence Aero (aka Kinlin xr-300 and Halo Mercury). TBH for a general set of wheels to use in all conditions all year round you'd probably be better with the IRD/Kinlin/Halo rims. I'm just after something a little more aero (and bling) and that means it has to be full carbon else they'd be way too heavy. I only plan to use them through the summer.

As for hubs, the more you pay the better/lighter the hubs become. I think most of the Chinese ready built wheels use Novatec hubs which seem to be pretty good value and they're reasonably light (Planet X Superlight hubs are rebadged Novatec I believe). If you were to go for the Chinese carbon wheels you'd probably be best just to get a ready built set - the only reason I'm not doing that is that I intend to build one of the rims onto a PowerTap hub.

i pulled the trigger on this frame tonight,

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250814862948&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2284wt_922

I have a full set of integra to go on with mavic aksium whels

Decided to leave the frame bare and not paint it.
