Simple really, i have crimbo cash sat waiting to purchase.
But would you trust this seller?, even with the protection from paypal it looks too "set up" to me.

  • Doesn't sell much cycling stuff does he?

If it looks too good to be true then it generally is - how much below RRP is this?
  • Rod, its about £175 cheaper than anywhere i can find. What concerns me most is memeber since Nov 2010, and twenty transactions mostly in the range of a pound or two only...

    Hence my reservations.
  • Can you pick up in person? If not then I'd steer clear. Lot of money to lose for a £175 saving and a load of hassle if it does go wrong.
  • Thought of that, but even if vendor agrees he's in Norwich and im down in the holyland (Bristol).

Gonna pass this by i think!
  • Probably a wise move - I've not heard great things about paypal refunds and it is a lot of cash to potentially lose to a user that hasn't got a long history. Fair enough everyone starts as a new user at one time but I guess the fraudsters have spoiled it for the genuine sellers.

You can ask if you can collect in person anyway (even if in reality you can't) just to gauge reaction - if they're dodgy they'll likely ignore the request or spin a yarn about having just moved blah blah blah.

Yep. Dodgy as you'd like... How many groupsets does he own? The ebay description reads -
Brand New, In boxs with manual.
    Contains the following,

    1. Chainset 172.5 = 39-53 or 34-50
    2. Brake calipers
    3. Shifters
    4. Rearmech SS Cage
    5. Front mech braze on or 34.9 Clamp on
    6. Cassette = 11-25 or 12-25 available
    7. Chain
    8. Cable set
    9. Bottom bracket English or Italian Thread

You may as well be putting your money into a brown paper bag, lighting it on fire and throwing it off a bridge.

I had a look at his other auction listing as I need mechs shifters and brakes but decided with the history and no real pictures it's not worth it.
