Hi
Has anybody ridden both the SL2 & SL3 frames in the 2011 Roubaix and has views on how they compare. I've had a SL3 expert on demo and really liked it. Wondered if there is much difference though.
Thanks

I rode the 2011 SL3 and have bought the SL2 comp. Price being the issue ! Have yet to ride my SL2 but given that the SL2 carbon was basically last years top range frame and whilst there are differences for me I don t believe them to be that great to the mere mortal rider. I will post when I ride mine. I expect it to be lovely given the feel from setup though : )0

I've put quite a few miles on both. Have to admit that while the SL3 is stiffer laterally, because I am a mere mortal I could not feel a difference (although the numbers prove it's with out a doubt more latterly stiff). The SL2 was plenty stiff for me.
Vertical compliance (the overall bump absorption) was where I could feel the improvement. The SL2 was the best bike I had ridden for vertical compliance until I rode the SL3. I don't know how our engineers did it exactly, but the ride is phenomenally comfortable and efficient. The internal cable routing is very nice as well.0 -
Thanks both.
Not made my mind up yet. I liked the SL3 expert I had on demo. I'm trialling a Trek Madone tonight.0
