Hi

Has anybody ridden both the SL2 & SL3 frames in the 2011 Roubaix and has views on how they compare. I've had a SL3 expert on demo and really liked it. Wondered if there is much difference though.

Thanks

I rode the 2011 SL3 and have bought the SL2 comp. Price being the issue ! Have yet to ride my SL2 but given that the SL2 carbon was basically last years top range frame and whilst there are differences for me I don t believe them to be that great to the mere mortal rider. I will post when I ride mine. I expect it to be lovely given the feel from setup though : )

I've put quite a few miles on both. Have to admit that while the SL3 is stiffer laterally, because I am a mere mortal I could not feel a difference (although the numbers prove it's with out a doubt more latterly stiff). The SL2 was plenty stiff for me.
Vertical compliance (the overall bump absorption) was where I could feel the improvement. The SL2 was the best bike I had ridden for vertical compliance until I rode the SL3. I don't know how our engineers did it exactly, but the ride is phenomenally comfortable and efficient. The internal cable routing is very nice as well.

    Thanks both.

Not made my mind up yet. I liked the SL3 expert I had on demo. I'm trialling a Trek Madone tonight.
