Anyone know how sensitive Shimano braking systems are to being mixed and matched ?

am looking at pairing 535 calipers with 485 levers..........will this be the same as using the 535 levers ?

Even across servo wave/non-servo wave?

Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.
