Any thoughts on what's good? the current ones (Shimano) are on thier way out, and new Shimano's cost about 4 times that of Superstars. However, the Shimano's have been great. Do I bite the bullet and get fleeced on Shimano's, go to Superstars and get 4 sets for the price of one Shimano or something (thoughts??) in the middle. I'm not into changing brake pads depending on conditions, and I ride mainly cross country on a 100mm hardtail but I'll happly tackle anything at Afan etc on the same bike so I like something fairly good at stopping!

Get some Superstar kevlar pads, my favorite brake pads of all time.
My last order was some sintered pads but TBH I have no idea why :roll:0 -
Superstar sintereds have been great. I've been waiting for the last batch to wear out so I can try the kevlars, but they stubbornly refuse to...Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0
