Shimano Ultegra 6700 Wheel Skewers Problem ?????

Hi,
I have just bought Shimano Ultegra 6700 Wheelset for christmas.
I have fitted the tyres/tubes and went to put the front wheel on and the ultegra skewer was too big for the forks. Therefore, a long piece of the skewer was hanging out beyond the end of the fork. I swapped the ultegra skewer to my normal one and this problem still occurred.
What should I do to solve this problem?
Is this Wheelset compatible with a - Specialized Allez Sport 27 2010?
Thanks,

Did you use the rear skewer by mistake? It's longer than the front one.0

That's the only thing it can be. If the other one is also too long they have supplied two rear skewers by mistake.0
