BigStus' Annual Chrissy poem for those who love a brew.

Thought I'd roll this out again in good time to spread a little Aussie Christmas cheer your way.


Twas the night before christmas, the fridge full of booze
I swayed off to bed, for a well earned snooze.
The esky'd been placed by the barbie with care
In hopes that the coldies soon would be there.

I smiled as I dimmed all the lights in the house
Knowing my cat had removed that damn mouse.
With visions of sugarplums riding my bike
My bed started to spin, Now this I did not like.

Now where once there was grass there arose such a clatter
I fell out of bed to see what was the matter
Probably just an old wino, just being pesky
Or some flamin' chav makin' off with me esky.

The light of my torch gave out a dull glow
I could see nothing of objects below.
When what to my bloodshot eyes should appear
The pizza delivery guy, with a six pack of beer.

I threw on my bathrobe and strode down the stairs
Catching my big toe, on one of the chairs.
More rapid than beagles he'd found my address
"Sorry mate, No change for a fifty." he had to confess.

Just as smoke from a burnt snag causes lauguage to fly
as it wafts past the noses of those drinking nearby
I cursed as I realized I'd spent all my cash
I'd pimped out my ride, it really was flash.

"No worries mate", I said, sliding into my loafers
Now smoothly sliding to check out my sofas.
Without a fistfull of coin, He'd soon be leaving.
A prospect that soon got the cusions a heaving.

I turned and I smiled as I payed the dear chap
Then flopped on the lounge, pizza perched on my lap.
The time it was late, my mates soon would be here.
To fill my humble abode with their christmas cheer

I downed the pizza and knocked back the ale
My face by now was decidedly pale.
Now off too bed, must do whats right
So Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night.
