I'm thinking would the slightly wider chain be an issue with the (I'm assuming) narrower guides on a 10 speed derailleur?

Thanks.

(Shifters - 2300, IG70 chain)

  • Bit more chain rub than you have at the moment, otherwise it will be fine.

    It'll work fine.

    But which, and why ?
    - if you've got 2300 shifters and want to 'upgrade' to an Ultegra or Dura Ace mech, thinking you'll get super-duper gear shifting, you won't...

Nah - just a 105 mech or something like that. It's just that my 2300 one seems to be a bit bent/skewed - basically it's not at 90 to the ground - maybe 93-95. I'm just considering it as if anythign it will look better - and maybe slightly better shifts too! :p It's just that looking at the prices of 10 speed ones vs 8/9 speed ones it just seems like the better one to get.

Where did you get the idea that someone would put ultegra or DA with 2300 shifters? :o :P
