as my next bike is hopefully going to be a Carrera Vengeance Ultimate from Halfords Im starting to think about upgrades I will be making when i (inevitably) find that there are parts that are worn down or just need changing due to being terrible, Im hoping for them to be green. any ideas start of with grips, Bars/stem/headset (will be crank bros iodine, good?) pedals then as time goes by start on bigger things like wheelset brakes and cranks(DMR cults?)

Any ideas?

sorry about the length

superstar components are cheapest for decent grips. Spank do some multi coloured bars/stems. I think the headset on the vengance is an internal one, and therefore you wont be able to see it no matter what colour it is. Welgo MG-1 s are the best cheap pedals, but im not sure they come in green.

TBH though, if you are planning on upgrading stuff before youve even got the bike, you should probably either buy a more expensive bike in the first place or do a self build.
  • green is a bit of a pain of a colour compared to red/blue/gold/silver.

It is however well worth searching out if you want something a bit different. Alternatively get bits custom anodised if you really want to pimp properly.

You can seek out Hope Team Green stuff second hand but it fetches a premium as it's only issued to sponsored riders. I might have some bits going in the next month or two depending if I keep my hardtail or not once I've built my full susser.

I have Tech X2 brakes with floating rotors, stem, ceramic bottom bracket, brand new headset and quick releases. I also have an SRAM PG990 cassette with green spider and green salsa seatclamp.

However I have been told I should keep the hardtail as I'll regret it if I sell it but there's a lot of money tied up in it and the spending on the new project has gone out of control so I need to consider whether I need both bike. I plan on giving myself a short peiod with both bikes before I decide.
