'elastic' drivetrain

The power transfer on my P7 is becoming more and more sluggish under acceleration, especially on the flat and climbing, to the point where it feels like my chain is elastic and it takes a while for it to get going.
The current set up is: RaceFace Cranks & Chainrings, SRAM chain, SLX rear mech, shimano cassette, shimano 525 hub... wheels have mavic XM317 rims and Maxxis Advantage 2.25 tyres....
The only weak link I can see is the hub - had the bike less than 8 months and had to strip it down twice already - but it has recently been serviced and the problem persists. I will be upgrading to a Hope Pro 2 in the new year.
It has been suggested that the tyres maybe contributing but I havent heard a bad thing said about the Advantage's.
Does anybody have any suggestions or had any similar issues? And before anyone says it, no it's not fitness related!!!

So, what's the problem again?0

The bike feels slow and sluggish, especially when accelerating... What can I change to help this?0

Has the tyre pressure gone down? Make sure the brakes are not rubbing, and all the bearings turn smoothly.0

Has it felt like that all of a sudden?
It's got to be your head telling you that if you haven't changed anything.0 -
Might be a sign of impending illness if it's all in your legs?0

Tyre pressures are fine, as are the brakes... It's been gradual really, but it's got to the point where it seems to sap and waste input... it's odd.0

It's odd for sure.0

have you measured the chain for wear?
My bet would be the hub bearings either front or rear.0 -
Have you been eating lots of pies and bacons?I don't do smileys.

Just turn the bike upside down and spin the wheels see if they spin freely for a while. Remove chain and spin cranks check they do the same.0

Right, been tinkering and the hub looks to be the main source of the problem. The cranks spin well and there was no drag or rubbing in regard to the brake. I took the chain and brake caliper off to spin the rear wheel freely and it doesn't spin for long before pulling itself to a rather abrupt halt... it has been serviced recently and the bearing were in good condition... Sounds like plan of a new hub in the new year could fix my problem!
Cheers for the bike related suggestions... not so much for the suggestion of pie munching.0 -
sounds very much like the hub bearings are too tight, or the dustcaps are rubbing on the hub body. You have systematically eliminated everything other cause!
Try loosening the cones and checking the dust caps. Whatever condition the bearings are in, loosening the cones will allow the hub to spin more freely. It's probably just a case of adjustment.0 -
